Linda Cumming's Famous Apple Crunch /Crisp
(double for a 9x13 baking dish)
diced apples
cinnamon
1/2 cup of water
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
Fill the baking dish 3/4 full of diced apples (golden delicious are really great). Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and add water. (I add less water for juicy apples).
Work together flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly, and sprinkle over the apples (I have been known to double this mixture). Bake for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees or until brown on the top.
Pecans may be added to topping if desired. (no thanks) Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
I eat it hot, warm, or cold. Delicious all temps.
