The Boundary House Restaurant

Our plan this year, as most all years, was to eat out on the first and last night of vacation.  Somehow that got a little mixed up and we ended eating out mid week.  Can't believe we found this place.  I think Mark must have checked Urbanspoon for this one.  There was a 2  1/2 hour wait if we all wanted to sit together.  We opted for two tables...Mark and I took all the unmarried kids and my Dad got the older ones.

I love it when the menu gives you some background about the place.

Mark loves scallops...so he and Sarah split an appetizer of fried scallops.

best sweet potato ever!  crab cake, blackened fish and hush puppies

fried shrimp and crab cake
The cinnamon butter for the sweet potato was delicious!

shrimp and oysters

While we were waiting we were listening to conversations around us...a girl used her cell phone to call a friend from the area to see if the wait was worth her time.  Her 'native' friend said that The Boundary House was the best place on the beach and well worth any amount of wait time.

I will agree.  We waited less that 20 minutes.  The restaurant is clean and very interesting to look at.  Our server was  on top of things at all times.  I hope we make a return trip next year.
