It's Been A Bit

. Thursday, May 9, 2024 .

It has been a bit since I have been on this blog.

I want to share something that I think could be very cool.

These are chives.  They are perennial which means they come back every year.  The other night, I was looking at Facebook and my friend Jamie Kiner posted that you could make chive vinegar.

This is a quart of chive vinegar that is making itself lovely.

The Recipe
Chive Blossom Vinegar
Heat two cups of white vinegar on the stove.   While the vinegar is getting hot place 1 cup of cleaned chive blossoms in a quart Mason jar.  Pour heated vinegar over the blossoms.  Sit back and let them step for a week.

Vinaigrette
1/3 cup of olive oil
1 cup of chive blossom vinegar
1 Tablespoon of Dijon mustard
salt and pepper to taste

I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out on Sunday, May 12.
