This is how it all started. I love this tradition at our house. This year I even have orders to fill. Bring me a big bag of chocolate candy from your Halloween stash and I will whip up a Candy Bar Pie for you. Or if you want to make your own, here is the original blog with the recipe.
You want to use the chewiest and softest candy in your stash.
It helps if you have helpers. We are secretly working on those cutting skills and it isn't even a preschool day. They open them and then I cut them into small pieces.
Connor said he needed to get a better look.
Not really sure of the measurement but I actually cut up about a half of a gallon size ziplock bag.
I pour maybe 3/4 of the bag into the pie shell after it has baked for 10 minutes by itself.
Here they are ready to go in. One for the Bruce's and one that the Zimmerman's shared with the Rockhold's.
And here they are baked and cooling and making the house smell wonderful. It smells like a chocolate factory. My mouth waters.
I'm thinking about trying to make some candy bar tarts in my spare time. I don't know when that will be because I have to fill some orders.
Oh, how I love Halloween candy!
