On a whim, Emmy and I took a little day trip following the river to new Richmond, OH.

We had wanted to have lunch at The Green Kayak but they were closing at 1 because there was a wedding reception that evening (we just happened to know who was getting married)  We stumbled upon a really nice place...

 almost on the river...

 Front Street Café

quaint and very homey

black bean and hummus Naan bread

River City Reuben Panini

Han and Provolone Panini

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was so relaxing.  We had a good time.  Then we walked across the street and checked out the river.  On the drive down Front Street we decided to stop and run in a few shops.  Came away with a few treasures!

We will travel back to have a meal at The Green Kayak...I hear they make a mean twisted BLT.

We are in Lexington for the grandkids last soccer game.  After playing you need to eat, right.  No matter what time of day it is we need to eat.  Cassie gets in touch with the only person we know that knows everything..all the ends and outs of Lexington, John Black.  He gets back with a list.  The girls choose Limestone Blue.

The building is small but with lots of urban character.  The menu was f un to read.  And as usual we tried to order as many different things as we could.

 dill feta dip

avocado 'fries'   really good and different

Geez Louise

The Old Courthouse

The Hot Momma

Raymie's HotBrown with mac and cheese

Achy Breaky Heart with broccoli salad

John Black will always be our foodie guy when we travel to Lexington! Or CA or Hati...or wherever he might be at the moment!
